In the past five years, I have used technology in my classroom; however, I wouldn't say that technology is woven carefully and creatively into my daily lessons. This is my goal. Each year, I try new Web 2.0 tools and practice integrating them into my units. Additionally, I use Google Documents on a regular basis with my students. In fact, I have been the most successful with Google Documents. I have seen an increase with completed writing homework assignments because students use their computer at home, share the file with me, and forget about it until the next day. I think it makes it easier for the students because a lot of them are on computers after school, and it is a natural extension for them to do the work and "send it off." Personally, I like Google Documents better than email because my mailbox doesn't get so junked up with emails from students. What I would like to do better with Google Docs is not to print out the homework. I want to become more environmentally savvy, especially since my students are using the technology.
