In steps the BLOG. Blogs can be used in many ways. I'm using a blog in order to just get out information. However, I could pose a question on my blog and ask people to respond. The blog is controlled by the person who owns the blog. That way as a teacher, you can control the blog by asking critical thinking questions about a subject or reading and have the students respond. This enables ALL students to participate and it adds a level of engagement that is not always visible in crowded classrooms.
A good use for blogs is when you have some questions about reading assignments in which you want ALL students to have a voice when participating. So many times we have the same students answering all the questions in the classroom. We know there are many reasons why this occurs, so how do we have formative assessments that are meaningful for the student and the teacher?
